The Trials of Fate
Name: Falafel
Title: The Trials of Fate
Summary: Desmond, the man who spent three years saving the world by pushing a button, is now battling against the universe to keep Charlie Pace alive. Together the two men struggle to change their fates.
Disclaimer: I don't own Lost.
Characters: Charlie, Desmond, Penny and Vincent (Charlie POV).
Word Count: 2742
Warnings: Heavy angst and dark themes.
Author's Notes: I had originally intended for ToF to be a oneshot fic, but I found I had so many ideas regarding the current Desmond/Charlie story that I decided to merge them all into a Chesmond epic. After reading this instalment I would recommend that readers reflect a little on the dream sequence. Like all dreams and visions in Lost it offers many clues and foreshadowings as to where this story is headed... (Chapter One: Guarding)
Charlie was propped up on his elbows, frowning at the man who was leaning back against the tree.
