A/N: My psyche_30 is centered around Hurley, seeing the other characters interactions through his eyes as well as his own issues, although this chapter is PG, many of the upcoming will be graphic and slash oriented.
The first thing I remember is sand; sand in my shoes, cloths, my hair and sticking to me everywhere from sweat. I remember how much I hated the itchy feeling of it. It’s strange some part of me can kind of remember the screaming, the smell of things burning, and the chaos; parts of the plane, luggage, and people milling around. Thank god, but I’ve never been able to recall all the dead bodies, I know that they must have been there; but it’s a total blank. Hey on this bizzaro island I don’t look a gift horse in the mouth. I’m glad that I can’t remember.
That whole first day was like watching things as if I was deaf. Maybe my hearing was all strange and stuff from the impact. It was like a gory B movie with really bad acting. At first some people were standing around in a daze, while others walked through the picture going nowhere. It seemed like people were screaming at each other about nothing. This bald guy walked around looking up like he’d found Jesus. Then this dude in a suit showed up. That changed everything.
He was everywhere at once, looking at injuries and yelling orders at people. Next thing I know I’m helping move a piece of the plane to get it off this injured guy and then I suddenly was looking after this really pregnant girl. Man that scared me she looked ready to pop right there, but the guy told me to look after her and I did. In a way when he showed up it was a relief. It got people moving. He just jumped in and told them what to do and they did it, it had nothing to do with if he was right or not. Although looking back Jack, stepped up and probably saved a lot the passengers from getting themselves killed right after surviving the crash. Dude that would be so lame to survive a plane crash and them just get yourself killed because your stupid.
Jack’s showing up got people out of shock and got them to help themselves. He made our natural instincts kick in; to work together, gathering everything we could, and getting away from the dangerous burning. Funny how we all kind of did nothing before he showed up, but man it’s weird to just suddenly be in a plane crash and then be okay. I mean all ten fingers, all ten toes if you know what I mean. It just didn’t make sense at all to see all these people who were ‘just fine’.
Jack was our leader from the moment he opened his mouth, although it took awhile for everyone to say it. Problems started right away with people like Sawyer. Fighting between the group got going fast. But in the back of everyone’s mind, we all felt safer with Jack in charge. Even that hick Sawyer and that scary dude Locke, I'm tell you something’s just not right about that guy. Jack’s actions kind of woke us up and made us remember ‘Oh yeah, stay alive right. Got it.’ I know it sounds stupid, but things were so weird that we might have just stood around doing nothing. I’m glad he got me though that first day although this place is just weird. You need strong instincts to survive here; monsters, polar bears, crazy chicks, and psycho killers keep you on your toes.

Date: 2006-04-03 04:18 am (UTC)Thanks, I so wanted to do Hurley for the psyche_30 table one he'd been to the big house with soft walls and he's the observer of the group. Using him, I can write about all the characters as well as a few choice issues of his!
Yeah I have to admit I liked the like "This bald guy walked around looking up like he'd found Jesus." I think he finds Locke as creepy as I do.
Thanks again, I am enjoying it. Lost is a great love of mine, but I'm a bit of a fandom ho. I'm also committed to Firefly, Supernatural, and Smallville challenges at the moment (and Buffyverse calls to me), so I'm a little over extended.
Is their a particular psyche issue that you like I'll dedicate the chapter to you.
*hugs*
