She had always thought she was numb to it, to the pain that feeling torn between them. They were so different, Jack always the intellectual, the rational, just a good guy Jack. The leader, he took care of everyone, the doctor, it was his job. His dark hair, short, clean cut, he was a good man. Though it felt so good to be with him, she always had the feeling she was never good enough.

 

 

 

 

But she was too good for him, James. But every girl loves a bad boy, and he was the resident bad boy. He used nicknames that… that should sometimes never be said. But they only let him get away with it in that southern drawl that he had. He only looked out for himself, or made it look that way. His hair always fell into his face, never tidy and neat. He wouldn’t wear a shirt if he didn’t have to, and used his sexuality to get his way if it would work. He was a bad boy and she just had to have him,

 

 

 

 

 

Having them back together she realized that he had changed, they had both changed into each other. James was clean cut, his hair still long but brushed back, and Jack had just shaved off that thing he called facial hair that made him look like a homeless freak. They were different now, but there was a tugging at her heart. She thought the pain had been numbed but she felt it now with both of them at her side.
