Title: Public Enemies

Spoilers: Well, it's *very* AU, but we'll say the whole series just to be safe.
Summary: An AU in which Sawyer and Kate not only knew each other before the crash, but are a modern day Bonnie and Clyde on the run from the police. While hiding out in Australia, they are hunted down and are going to be taken back to the US for trial, but then the plane they're on crashes...

Author Notes: While there is still the plane crash, the island, and the same group of characters, everything else about this story is extremely Alternate Universe. Some plot points from the show will be similar to what was seen on screen, some won't, but everything has been reworked to fit around Sawyer and Kate, who are the main focus throughout the fic. But I think the fic explains itself pretty well so hopefully you guys will "get" it just through reading and won't feel horribly confused! Please be aware that chapter seven contains adult scenes of a sexual nature – I upped the rating to M for a reason!
