I Never Kissed A Man
“I’ve never kissed a man.”
He had gotten Freckles to play is little game in high hopes at getting her tell his some truths. He had told two lies.
“I’ve never kissed a man.”
He could’ve drunk to it. Certainly would’ve shocked the ever living shit out of her. Would’ve made things real interesting.
“I’ve never kissed a man.”
Sawyer was sixteen, living with his Auntie June at the time. His name was Peter Gillis . Dark hair, bright blue eyes. Pretty pink mouth. Sweeter than all hell. Met him playing hooky. Didn’t feel like going to school that day, instead he went down by the river just four blocks away. Sat down at the river bank to have a smoke and laid eyes on the prettiest boy he’d ever seen. He was walking through the cool water, jeans rolled up to his knees. He looked over at Sawyer, he smiled.
“Hi.’
“Hi.” Sawyer said back.
Peter went over and sat with him.
They’d spent the day together. And many days after that. Sawyer had become very closed off after his parents died. Didn’t get attached to people. But Peter was the only person he’d let himself grow close to since that night when he was eight. He was even beginning to trust him. Peter took care of him. Always said the right thing. Was always there for him. Even hugged him when he needed it. They became very close. There was no doubt that he was always going to have Peter. Peter meant the world to him.
“I’ve never kissed a man.”
One night they were sitting together by the river. Listening to the water. Feeling the warn breeze. Sawyer had moved closer to Peter. He had never felt this way about a boy before, but this wasn’t just a boy. This was Peter. He moved close enough that their shoulders were touching. Peter didn’t seem to mind. Sawyer brushed his finger on Peter’s hand, resting it on top. Peter turned his head and looked at Sawyer. Sawyer looked back at him. After a few long seconds, he placed his lips on Peter’s and kissed him softly.
“I’ve never kissed a man.”
He kissed a man. There were stars.
And then they fell.
Peter drew back from Sawyer. His hand moved away. He stood up. Sawyer was breaking.
“Peter…”
“I can’t.”
“I’ve never kissed a man.”
He never saw much of Peter after that. Soon not at all. Eventually Peter was just a memory. One of the most painful one’s he had. The one person he thought would be with him, was gone. All because he had gone a done something real stupid…
“I’ve never kissed a man.”
Which was the one other lie he had told Freckles that night.
“I’ve never been in love.”
end.
I know this probably wasn't all that great but I hope you all liked it anyway:)
