Preamble: After her return to the island, Kate had found comfort in Juliet. She overcame her mistrust towards the blonde doctor and developed feelings Juliet returned. But it wouldn't be the island if there wasn't a matter of life and death preventing them from enjoying their new found love.
The Dharma Intiative is about to drill into the pocket of enegery that will cause their plane to crash 30 years later when Desmond fails to push the button. Faraday comes up with the insane plan to detonate a hydrogen bomb to destroy the energy once and for all but the bomb wouldn't detonate, the incident is about to happen just like it would've anyway.
The energy creating a powerful magnet, pulling Juliet against all efforts down the pit after a metal chain had wrapped itself around her waist and leg.
